You are that part of me that will never close her eyes, that part who will never let go of the anger because we know that anger is powerful, noble, and necessary. You are that part of me who will wake me up, who will haunt me in my dreams when I allow myself to be lulled into fantasy and complacency by this illusion of a world. Even when you're not there, you are with me.
In this time of controversy regarding the death of our fellow UPian, our fellow Isko, let us take the time to grieve. While our University is shrouded with mystery, it is also filled with anger, grief and sadness over this tragedy. Though the facts and details are yet to be uncovered, the truth remains that we as a community have lost Cris - a son, a brother, a friend, an orgmate, a student leader, a colleague. Whether or not we are members of Fraternities or Sororities, he was our brother. Let us unite in calling for the truth, and for whatever justice he and his family deserves. Wear white on Friday, August 31. On this day (11:30 AM), at the AS Lobby, the USC will hold a short program for the late Cris Anthony Mendez, NCPAG Councilor, and NCPAG OIC Representative to the USC.
If I believed in cures
for things like loneliness,
it would be easier -
You have made it,
with your sheer laughter,
(Remember the day
we watched Pink Panther?
We both laughed like little
children, without worries
of tomorrow.);
If I believed that happiness
can be found in another -
Your hand in mine,
will be the answer,
(It never fails to be there
when I most need it,
soothing all sadness away);
If I believed in forever,
or such crazy notions as
always and ever after…
Well dearest,
Truth be told - you
have (almost) made
me forget… What it's like
not to believe.
(How very tricky of you
my love.)
